Hot Couture

flapper hems at Chanel & Valentino
great lengths and silhouettes at Valentino
feminine waists and luxurious textures at Christiaan Dior
sheer sheer sheer and divine draping at Christiaan Dior
all in the details at Giambattista Valli
effortless at Giambattista Valli & embellished at Jean Paul Gaultier

A small selection of some of my favourite looks from Spring 2012 Paris Couture Shows. One of the shows I also look forward to is Ellie Saab, however their latest collection was far too safe. Another collection that disappointed me was Jean Paul Gaultier, I felt it was hap-hazardly put together, I do however love this look above - great textures and combination of colours. I loved Valentino's feminine long dresses and the soft florals paired with matching self fabric shoes and the off the shoulder 'balloon sleeve' jackets seen at Chanel & Christiaan Dior. Christiaan Dior's use of sheer fabrics was absolutely divine putting it at the top of my list of favourite collections alongside  Giambattista Valli. x x x  K

current obsessions

Loving all of the above... I am starting a creative design course in Fashion at Lisof this week and I couldn't be more excited! Working in Fashion is my dream come true and I would never say no to learning more. In other news I had a week of holiday the week before last and I had some time to make a few jewelry pieces so I will be sharing those soon... x o x o K

blows my mind

I have never had the inclination to learn to surf but Free People certainly sells 'california girl' to my liking! Jessica Hart the LA Girl for Free People lensed by Chrissy Piper - got to love this floral long board and the coral crochet dress in the first image absolutely blows my mind. K x

clean cut

Stumbled across these gorgeously simple images, of model Natasha Belobrovik by Jonothan Leder, in my inspiration folder. I love the 'make-up-less' look, when I was in New York I came across the FORD Model cards at the fittings and I just loved the candid shots they had as covers, unfortunately I haven't been able to track any images down but will keep looking. The third of my 'lipstick inspired' outfits. This last one is inspired by 'Hue' a nude natural lippy, a 'Cali surfer girl' look of sorts with the amazing Oracle Fox for Billabong 'Gypsy' shorts and Chloe Sevigny sneakers dressed up with this divine vintage Antik Batik clutch. K x

The second ensemble inspired by lippy number two: 'So Chaud' by M.A.C - the perfect reddish-orange to compliment this gorgeous Chloe dress. K x

Ruby Woo

Ruby Woo

Those of you that know me personally will know that I have a bit of weakness for M.A.C cosmetics. I had heard of the 'M.A.C gives back' deal where you take six empty products back and you get a free lipstick. I had been collecting empties for awhile but never got around to taking them in, so eventually this week I popped into M.A.C to exchange my empties and left with three gorgeous new colours (you do the math). I've always played it safe with lipstick, it's the one make up item I steered away from so I've decided to put together outfits that best suited each colour. This is the first of three, 'Ruby Woo' a fun african inspired shorts outfit with the gorgeous Micheal Kors wedges and 3.1 Phillip Lim colour block clutch bag finished off with smacking red lips! Stay posted for more this week... K x

a perfect day

wish list

So I am on the look out for a new pair of sunnies as my nerdy favourites are dying a slow horrible death (I just can't let go).
I was recently introduced to the David Green Sunglasses Collection "Eyes for the Environment" if you must. Those of you who know me personally would know that I'm a bit of a hippy at heart, green fingers etc, so when I was told about these frames, that are made with real leaves as detail in them, I got rather excited! How Organic! Although my favourite style is the black with black leaf they have a variety of colours to choose from.
