MBFWA KLuK CGDT

A bit late but here is a quick pick of a few of my favourite looks from the KLuK CGDT show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Africa last week. Inspired by the movie 'White Mischief' and the South China islands. Malcolm and Christiaan hosted a 'fashion happening' which was extremely well received. I loved the shades from Sunglass Hut and the beautiful pastel platform heels from Nine West. I also modelled in the show for the boys (seen in the first picture centre) and the following evening we attended the fashion awards. It was a phenomenal event to end the year off with a bang as our last show of the year, and what a busy year it has been. TGIF! x o x o K

Absolutely love this editorial from Blackbook. The styling by Christopher Campbell is impeccable and the accessories to die for! Great inspiration to start off this sweet short week in SA. via FashionGoneRogue

A bit of inspiration for Friday, one just can't go wrong with a bit of lace at the moment...
Very excited for this weekend, still wish I was shooting though. Lots to do, lots planned... xxx K

sun goddess

I'm longing for summer - can you tell? Plus my one sister is on a trip in Zambia and the other leaves for Seychelles tomorrow - jealous much? I am!

I love the styling and mood of this editorial for ELLE Greece's June 2012 issue featuring Natalia Uliasz lensed by Dimitri Skoulos (again - I'm loving his work!). Happy Friday! K x

african dream

Another of my favourite models, Marloes Horst, smolders in this stunning editorial for Harpers Bazaar Australia March 2012 lensed by Will Davidson. Absolutely love the styling and the mood of these images. K x x x

Hot Couture

flapper hems at Chanel & Valentino
great lengths and silhouettes at Valentino
feminine waists and luxurious textures at Christiaan Dior
sheer sheer sheer and divine draping at Christiaan Dior
all in the details at Giambattista Valli
effortless at Giambattista Valli & embellished at Jean Paul Gaultier

A small selection of some of my favourite looks from Spring 2012 Paris Couture Shows. One of the shows I also look forward to is Ellie Saab, however their latest collection was far too safe. Another collection that disappointed me was Jean Paul Gaultier, I felt it was hap-hazardly put together, I do however love this look above - great textures and combination of colours. I loved Valentino's feminine long dresses and the soft florals paired with matching self fabric shoes and the off the shoulder 'balloon sleeve' jackets seen at Chanel & Christiaan Dior. Christiaan Dior's use of sheer fabrics was absolutely divine putting it at the top of my list of favourite collections alongside  Giambattista Valli. x x x  K

current obsessions

Loving all of the above... I am starting a creative design course in Fashion at Lisof this week and I couldn't be more excited! Working in Fashion is my dream come true and I would never say no to learning more. In other news I had a week of holiday the week before last and I had some time to make a few jewelry pieces so I will be sharing those soon... x o x o K

I have never had the inclination to learn to surf but Free People certainly sells 'california girl' to my liking! Jessica Hart the LA Girl for Free People lensed by Chrissy Piper - got to love this floral long board and the coral crochet dress in the first image absolutely blows my mind. K x

clean cut

Stumbled across these gorgeously simple images, of model Natasha Belobrovik by Jonothan Leder, in my inspiration folder. I love the 'make-up-less' look, when I was in New York I came across the FORD Model cards at the fittings and I just loved the candid shots they had as covers, unfortunately I haven't been able to track any images down but will keep looking. This year has been a very exciting one indeed, amongst it a handful of Fashion Weeks, work trips to Angola & New York, a holiday in the tropical Mozambique, a handful of weekend shoots amongst a crazy busy work schedule, and a promotion to 'creative assistant'. Many things inspire me but right on top of that list is Fashion Photography, I can spend hours and hours paging through magazines old and new and browsing the 'inter-web' for inspirational images such as these. These are a selection from some of my favourite recent editorials and all things that inspire me. Wishing everyone a fantastic happy New Year may 2012 be filled with happiness and prosperity, we will be bringing in the New Year with a Mexican themed party so stay posted for pics next week.. x o x o K
