summer dreaming

Today is the Winter Solstice which means we're half way through Winter (I wish). I am kind of a beach bum and I always spend the 6 months of Winter pining for summer, so here goes - Free People Beach catalogue! K x

incredible akrans
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Camilla Akrans is the ultimate when it comes to Fashion photography! Here Jessica Miller models for Harpers Bazaar Uk June 2011, styled by: Franck Benhamou.
Sublime! Wishing you all a great inspired weekend, it's a beautiful sunny and warm weekend so lets hope the weather gods smile on us this weekend. K

A little inspiration for the weekend! Inspired by the amazing designs of Elizabeth, Sydney based graphic designer (found her work on my new fav blog Harper&Harley). I've recently moved and wanting to simplify I've decided not to have photo's or a storyboard in my room for now, but I love the beautiful and inspiring images on weheartit so I decided to put them together along with my other fav at the moment, triangles! I'm a bit obsessed! Putting a few of these together for one of the beautiful white frames they have at Country Road, to greet me in the morning and get the creative juices flowing! What inspires you? x o x o K
sheer bliss
I am currently obsessed with the sheer trend, and I'm still on the look out for the perfect sheer pleated maxi skirt. Love the use of sheer garments in these images. K x

friday
As seen on Face Hunter's visual diary here, Yvan took this fun shot of myself (left) with one of my besties, Michane Mostert (follow her on twitter here), at his book signing in Cape Town. Michane is leaving for China next week for her next modelling trip so we are spending the weekend seeing her off! Hope you have a fabulous weekend! K x

| I love to see, when leaves depart, The clear anatomy arrive, Winter, the paragon of art, That kills all forms of life and feeling Save what is pure and will survive. |
![]() |
| Already now the clanging chains Of geese are harnessed to the moon: Stripped are the great sun-clouding planes: And the dark pines, their own revealing, Let in the needles of the noon. |
![]() |
| Strained by the gale the olives whiten Like hoary wrestlers bent with toil And, with the vines, their branches lighten To brim our vats where summer lingers In the red froth and sun-gold oil. |
![]() |
| Soon on our hearth's reviving pyre Their rotted stems will crumble up: And like a ruby, panting fire, The grape will redden on your fingers Through the lit crystal of the cup. |
A couple of my friends and I teamed up this weekend to update my book.
A lot of fun was had and we were really happy with the results!

bohemia
I have always been delighted with all things bohemian and vintage, even as a young child I begged my mom to take me to second hand stores to find special jewelery and handbags to play dress up with. Cape Town is very in touch with this market for thrift-ed and vintage goods. I love to check in at the You Me and Everyone Market every now and then as I have picked up quite a few special goodies there, if you're a Capetonian and you haven't been, it's at the Labia Theatre entrance, and you cannot leave without checking out Babette and Thrift. Another favourite is Akimbo at the Old Biscuit Mill Market. I am dying to do a shoot inspired by some of these images. I have been very busy these past few months, including a trip to Joburg last week for Fashion Week, hence the lack of posts, but I am currently working on a lot and have a lot of new shoots to share, so watch this space! K
ruby
Apologies for my lack of posts lately, attributed largely to a very busy work schedule and a lack of time in general. We are in the process of setting up my photography website and I have a lot of shoots planned.
Really inspired by this shoot of the gorgeous Ruby Aldridge, absolute bohemian chic!

I have always loved black and white photos especially because I started out photography with a vintage Pentax camera using black & white film. It was my art major at school and we had a small dark room where we developed and printed our own photos. Since then I have moved onto digital photography although I often shoot in black and white! I'm really keen to get my old camera out and shoot some film again, so hopefully I will get to that soon. K

the ones to watch
I came across this site this morning when I was reading the lovely Jessica's blog eclectic raccoon. Not only does she have an awesome rock-star style but she also has a great eye for a good photo (or at least I think so). So when I saw she had recommended The Ones2Watch I immediately had to have a look. What an inspiring site, I love every bit of it from layout to content, I will definitely be spending a couple free afternoons reading here. Klaudia
